About:
Bryan Martin is a 25-year veteran of professional audio, studio recording,
and vacuum tube and solid-state electronics design and maintenance. His
electronics training began in 1986 at Platinum Island Recording studios
in Manhattan. The world of tube electronics was opened by chief tech Carl
Faruggia who had formerly worked for Les Paul.
As a record producer through the 80s and 90s, he bounced back and forth
across the Atlantic between New York and London accumulating an extensive
collection of vintage guitar amplifiers and recording equipment all in
need of love and attention. In the late 1990s, as a partner in Excello
Recording in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and its bursting indie scene, he was
responsible for Neve, Studer, API, Calrec, Pultec, UREI, EMT, and Teletronix
recording electronics as well as a constant parade of vintage and current
guitar amplifiers.
In 2002 he migrated to Montreal where he took up life as owner and chief
mastering engineer of Sonosphere Mastering (www.sonosphere.ca )
Sonosphere and heading his own R&D projects, into tube amplifier
design, audio transformer design, and guitar pickup design.
